And the big news (though no surprise to us!) is...Harewood has won across-the-board in the Northern England section.
Over the past few months garden lovers have been busy voting for their favourite gardens from those participating in the BBC Gardeners' World Gardens to visit scheme.
This year, in addition to voting for an all-round favourite, voters were asked to vote in three new categories: Best afternoon tea, Most romantic garden and Best day out for kids.
If you haven't visited Harewood's Gardens before you're in for a treat, and if you are lucky enough to live locally you will see the changing seasons reflected in the Gardens every time you visit.
Hyacinths on the Terrace, tulips in the borders, carpets of daffodils and rhododendrons in the Lakeside Gardens, orchids and fox-tail lillies in the Himalayan Garden, and planting underway in the Walled Garden...at last the signs of spring awakening can be seen in the Gardens at Harewood!
From the relaxing sound of the fountains on the terrace to the rejuvenating rush of water over the cascade in the Himalayan Garden, the Gardens provide a myriad of experiences to delight the senses.
A place to explore, a place to lose yourself, a place to relax and revive...
There's a secret, a story and an experience waiting to be discovered around every corner in the Gardens at Harewood. Come and see for yourself and you'll see why we're award-winning!
There's even more to enjoy at Harewood, as you'll discover when you taste the delights of The Terrace Cafe Tearooms. Not only is the food delicious and the drinks refreshing, it's also the perfect spot for sitting back and admiring the gardens and grounds.
Visit the Gardeners' World website for a full list of winning gardens from across the rest of the country. Don't forget, you can gain 2-for-1 entry to Harewood with the Gardens to visit guide, available free with the May 2010 issue of Gardeners' World magazine, on sale Tuesday 27 April.
