Impressing the Penguins and plans afoot in the Terrace Cafe

The Courtyard was a hit at half term and now plans are afoot for the Terrace Tearooms.

Things are changing for the better at The Courtyard with our new caterer, Boutique. With a fresh new menu offering a range of delights such as salad of asparagus, beetroot, toasted pine nuts and soft poached free range eggs, served with vinaigrette or their terrific Barnsley chop with creamed potatoes and mint jelly, visitors to Harewood over half-term didn’t need too much persuasion.The little ones were well catered for with clever lunch boxes or a wide choice of mini dishes great for all tastes.

Quality and service are uppermost in Boutique’s mind and the plans continue with more seasonal choice, new furniture and a general upgrade of facilities so if you haven’t already enjoyed what The Courtyard has to offer, make time for a visit as we’re confident you won’t be disappointed.

Watch this space too for changes to their menus and incentives to visit such as their current 2 for 1 offer on teas and coffees if you order food before 11.30am and after 2pm before 31st July 2009.

The Below Stairs exhibition is being relaunched and it seemed unfair not to include The Terrace Café. The in-house renovation team at Harewood have been hard at work removing panels to expose hidden stonework and upgrading the catering facilities.

The original stone work of the house is now fully revealed and an unknown glazed door has been discovered allowing us to gain entry into a previously inaccessible courtyard. Boutique don’t miss a trick and now have plans to use this unique area as a bijou outdoor space for our visitors.

The Terrace Tearooms will offer a sophisticated experience with new outdoor furniture so our discerning visitors can enjoy a light bite or afternoon ‘tea’ with homemade cakes and scones and a great range of teas and coffees. Where better to enjoy a chilled glass of something wonderful overlooking the glorious view across the landscape of Harewood … we think you’d find it hard to beat.
