8.00pm - 9.15pm
In The Gallery, Harewood House
This year Harewood is working with the National Centre for Early Music and the York Early Music Festival as part of the New Worlds programme to marry music together with some of the artefacts from our magnificent collection.
On Tuesday 13th July, the NCEM are presenting the internationally acclaimed viol consort Fretwork in a concert looking at Francis Drake’s circumnavigation of the globe 1577-1580.
Join us before the concert for a special curator’s presentation of Harewood’s 'Woman in Miniatures' exhibition – scheduled to open to the public on 22nd August – to gain an insight looking at how women were positioned within the political, social and domestic structures of the British Empire in England and India in the 19th century – some 300 years after Frances Drake circumvented the world.
To view the miniatures in comfort, we ask that you book a time-ticket in advance of arrival. The can be done via the NCEM booking office.
For further details and booking, please contact The National Centre for Early Music directly by phone on 01904 645738, email or on their website.
This event is part of the New Worlds project.
New Worlds is part of the imove programme, primarily funded by the Legacy Trust UK.
