This half term enjoy everything Harewood has to offer inside and outside. Perfect for the whole family and those who love the outdoors there’s a range of activities that celebrate this glorious time of year. See Harewood in its spectacular Autumn colours, take part in craft activities, explore the Gardens, Bird Garden, Adventure Playground and Second-hand bookshop.
This year we’re holding a Big Draw event here at Harewood. This inspirational campaign is designed to get everyone drawing: from professionals to amateurs, whether you draw on a regular basis or have never picked up a pencil, The Big Draw is here to help! Over the half term we want your creative input to create a sculptural forest. You’ll be able to design and decorate your own leaf to hang on twine branches which, when complete, will form a great communal paper forest.
Children’s Craft Activities - take part in nature themed crafts with potato & leaf printing
Food Demonstrations – see seasonal demonstrations in the old kitchen alongside the Northern Fruit Group’s apple display. See a variety of English apples from Harewood’s orchards.
Literature Trail – explore the grounds and gardens on this interactive trail. Each clue point has a line taken from a poem about autumn, can you collect them all to reveal the full poem?
Storytelling in the bookshop
Carved pumpkin display
Explore the adventure playground, meet feathered friends in the Bird Garden and put on your walking shoes and follow the lakeside path round to the Walled Garden to see tasty autumn home-grown produce, make sure to stop by the Courtyard Café for warming soups and hot drinks.
