6.00pm - 9.30pm
Museums at Night will be a real highlight this year with House and Collections talks, food and drink in the candlelit Terrace Cafe, sneak-peeks into previously unseen areas of the House, and silhouette-portraiture artistry.
This season for the first time, visitors to the House will be able to see the grand main staircase too...
Join us for an evening experience of sparkling chandeliers, twinkling lights and special interest tours and talks.
See the House lit up at night with fabulous landscape and sunset views from the Terrace with Red kites flying.
Drop in on our Silhouette Portraiture workshop, watch demonstrations and join in on creating your very own black and white miniature...
The noted physiognomist Johann Caspar Lavater (1741-1801) returns for one night only to give instruction in the noble art of Shades, or silhouette portraits.
Using a replica silhouette chair as designed by Lavater and Goethe,
visitors can draw each other's profiles before reducing them to black paper miniatures, and taking home a mounted likeness.
Museums at Night at Harewood is definitely a treat not to be missed!
