The tour below stairs takes us into the heart of the former servants' domain.
From the Entrance and Gift Shop, the Scullery and Old Kitchen, we continue to tread the corridors below stairs, following in the footsteps of the many staff to have serviced the House since its creation. Drawers and cupboards can be opened to discover some of the hundreds of objects that help to unravel the making and running of Harewood and the lives of those who lived and worked here.
The former Housekeeper’s Room is home to a permanent display devoted to Lord Harewood’s mother, HRH Princess Mary who lived at Harewood until her death in 1965. The newly re-opened Terrace Gallery hosts regularly changing art exhibitions.
