Beekeeping Demonstrations & Taster Days

Throughout the summer season, Harewood Learning Team offers visitors a variety of Beekeeping Taster Days and Demonstrations, some of which are free for all to enjoy!

The Harrogate and Ripon Beekeepers' Association have a working apiary here in the Walled Garden at Harewood where they run the Beekeeping Taster Days and demonstrations throughout the summer, helping people to find out more about bees and get some hands-on experience if they are thinking about keeping their own...

Beekeeping Taster Days

In June Harewood's Learning Team provides a series of Beekeeping Taster Day Workshops held in conjunction with the Harrogate & Ripon Beekeepers' Association. You can take your pick across a variety of dates and then get busy in your own garden!

It's the perfect opportunity to gain a wealth of knowledge from experienced beekeepers, including a opportunity to visit and observe a working apiary within the Grounds. You'll find out about the natural history of bees, hives and equipment, foraging, swarming, apiary sites, stings, diseases, hive products and processing.

Beekeeping Demonstrations

Every Saturday you can join them in the Walled Garden, to learn about the bees, see beekeeping skills in action, ask questions and find out about planting for bees, honey and more... Check our What's On pages for details.
