Thomas Chippendale’s fine dining room chairs now flank a Victorian dining table. Against the south wall are the superb sideboards and the urn-topped pedestals made by Chippendale.
The paintings include portraits of almost all the Earls of Harewood and some of their wives. The 3rd Earl is depicted on horseback with hounds, his Waterloo medal displayed beneath the portrait. His wife Louisa is seen standing to the south of the House, gesturing towards her newly built Terrace. The 6th Earl is shown in the robes of the Order of the Garter, a painting by Sir William Nicholson.
The State Dining Room is available for corporate functions and private dinners.
