    Adopt a bird

Adopt a bird at Harewood and know you’re helping to conserve over 30 species, several of which are threatened in the wild. By adopting you’ll be helping us meet the daily costs of running the Bird Garden which is funded solely through the Harewood House Trust. The following is an outline list of the species in the Bird Garden at present, further species may be to added to this list.

    Species list:

    • African Grey Crowned Crane

    • Bali starling

    • Blue and Gold Macaw

    • Blue-throated Conure

    • Blue-throated Piping Guan

    • Burrowing Owl

    • Cereopsis Goose

    • Chilean Flamingo

    • Edward's Pheasant

    • Golden Pheasant

    • Great Argus Pheasant

    • Humboldt Penguin

    • Lady Ross's Touraco

    • Ne-Ne Goose

    • Northern Helmeted Curassow

    • Rainbow Lorikeet

    • Snowy Owl

    • Stanley Crane

    • Superb Starling

    • Temminck's Tragopan

You can adopt a bird as a group, a company, or an individual, or as a worthwhile and unique gift for someone else.

When you adopt a bird at Harewood, you’ll receive:

    • A plaque displaying your name and message on your chosen bird’s enclosure display.

    • A certificate signed by our Bird Garden Curator.

    • A twice-yearly newsletter.

    • Ticket to the Summer Evening Bird Adopters’ Event.

We provide only a basic welcome pack for adopters to keep administration costs low and thus ensuring all donations go directly towards the care of the Birds and upkeep of the Bird Garden itself.

You could also adopt a bird on behalf of friends, family and loved ones. Bird adoption certificates are great gifts for birthdays, christmas, wedding presents or Valentines Day gifts (you can give them anonymously!).
