    Harewood has lots of space and interesting nooks and crannys for cwoodlandhildren to explore.  In fact there is so much to see and do it is difficult to know where to start.  So use these interesting activity trails to entertain and educate your children on your next family day out. 

    The Trees Trail

    Use this guide to identify different tree types throughout Harewood, as well as looking for objects made of wood.  This trail is mainly for 5-11 year olds with adult supervision.

    The Lake Trail

    An interactive trail to Harewood's lake, which explores the history of the lake and also the birdlife that lives in and around it. This trail is mainly for 5-11 year olds with adult supervision.

    The Red Kite Trail

    Learn about one of Harewood's most popular wild birds at Harewood. This trail is mainly for 5-11 year olds with adult supervision.

    The Kitchen Garden Trail

    Follow this trail for glimpses of the practical workings of this place, inside and out, over more than 250 years.  This trail goes from the House all the way to the Walled Garden, so will take some time! This trail is mainly for 5-11 year olds with adult supervision.

    The Lakeside walk Brass rubbings Trail

    A great way to excite children about the animals, birds, plants and trees they see at Harewood. This trail is mainly for 4 - 10 year olds with adult supervision.

    The Bird Garden Brass rubbings Trail

    This trail is a fun way to introduce children to the birds and the body parts that make them all different.  This trail is mainly for 4 - 10 year olds with adult supervision.

    Fun Feet Activity Trail

    As you explore the Bird Garden, take a closer look at the inhabitants feet! From Ostriches to Parrots, Penguins to Owls this trail is a great way to learns about animal adaptations and how the birds use their feet.

    New Life in the Bird Garden Trail

    During the Spring and Summer months there’s lots going on in the Bird Garden! A great way for children to see how birds make their nests and rear there young.

    Amazing Owls Activity Trail

    We have three different owl species living in the Bird Garden. This trail will tell you all you ever wanted to know about owls!
