Harewood is a great Yorkshire family day out! You’ll find all sorts of activities here for family fun – the big problem will be trying to fit it all into one day! Whatever day of the week, during term time or school holidays, there is plenty to do here, for children of all ages and for adults too.

Visit the Bird Garden and see species of rare and exotic birds from all over the world, including our ever-popular penguins, flamingos and parrots. The penguins are fed every day at 2pm and you can join in yourself! If you would like to feed the penguins, contact our Information Centre to book on 0113 218 1000.

You can also take a look at the busy life of bees in our Observation Beehive. Our bee colony are installed in the observation hive each year in summer (weather dependent!) - take a look at the busy life of bees, and if you spot the Queen you can collect your own sticker from the Information Centre to say 'I've seen the Queen!'. Don't miss the Adventure Playground; climb, clamber, slide, swing! Today it's a pirate ship, or a fairytale castle...let your imagination run wild! With different areas for different age groups, the playground is guaranteed to give hours of fun! Bring a picnic and you can sit back, relax and enjoy the view too!

Inside the House, you can learn about history and have fun while you’re doing it.  Dress up in servants’ clothes from the dressing up box and step back to Victorian times or discover the hidden delights behind the cupboard doors Below Stairs.
