Harewood House main website
As soon as the doors of the House closed to the public in October 2007, the East Bedroom was slowly stripped back to its bare walls and redecorated in preparation for the arrival of the Chinese wallpaper.

A great deal of archival research and scientific investigation was employed by experts with years of experience in order to ensure that the redecoration of the room was done with as much historical accuracy as possible.

As well as the wallpaper this includes a restored carpet, a Chippendale commode and mirror and a Chippendale four-poster bed, hung with new Chintz and silk to match our inventory description of 1795.
